Once I know I'd like to buy, where do I start?
Start by meeting first with your lender. Determining what you qualify for lays the foundation for the rest of the home buying process. Meeting with a lender early will allow your lender to help you with any credit issues that may slow you down. Even if you are certain you will qualify, it is still important to meet with a lender to determine how much you will qualify for. The last thing you want to do is get your heart set on a house you are unable to afford.

Who do I need to have on my team?
In addition to a competent Realtor and an informed lender, you will also need a number of other people available to help you through the buying process. In our opinion, an inspector is a must when buying a home. An accountant may also be needed particularly if you are hoping to claim the $8000 tax credit. In addition you will need to identify a quality title company to work with. An insurance agent will be required by your lender. And finally, your lender will also require an appraisal by one of their approved appraisers.
